The Counter is celebrating Father’s Day with their “Burger for Dad” special. Stop by any The Counter location and tell your server that your dad, grandpa or dad-like figure needs a  BFD and he’ll get a 1/3 lb. burger and toppings FREE if you buy a meal for yourself.

Brats Brothers in Sherman Oaks and Thousand Oaks is inviting dads to eat for FREE with a party of three or more. Drinks are not included.

Umami Burger is serving up their “Manly Meal”  at all locations  for a special price of $20.  Take your dad and  feast on a Manly Burger, Manly Fries, and a frosty pint of Allagash White.

Tula’s  in North Hollywood is offering an all day special for dads from 11 a.m.-11p.m. Bring Dad to Tula’s for a burger and a beer .Buy one entrée, and dad gets burger and beer for FREE! Reservations are required.  Minimum purchase of one entrée or more. Complimentary parking.

Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza and Grill in Studio City will be serving up $2 beers for dads with a limit of three per dad.

Los Angeles Film Festival: Now in its 19th year, the Los Angeles Film Festival will showcase nearly 200 features, documentaries, shorts and music videos, providing the movie-loving public with access to critically acclaimed filmmakers and emerging talent from more than 30 countries from its base at LA LIVE. through June 23.

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY

Pasadena Chalk Festival: See more than 500 artists from all over Southern California create 200 murals in pastel chalk, using the pavement as their canvas. Murals range in subject matter from the classical to whimsical, including renditions of masterpieces, abstract, portraiture, movie images, 3D effects, animation.  An Art Gallery and Silent Auction showcasing 200 original paintings created by the chalk artists makes great affordable art, with all proceeds benefitting the arts and learning programs of Light Bringer Project. On Sunday, don’t miss the Classic Cars showcased along Green Street. Paseo Colorado, 280 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91101. Murals also extend across Green Street onto the Convention Center concourse. FREE. Sat. and Sun. 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

35th annual Playboy Jazz Festival: This year’s roster on  Saturday and Sunday at the Hollywood Bowl includes Brubeck Brothers Quartet, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Lee Ritenour,  Jeffrey Osbourne, George Duke, Sheila E, India. Arie and more. LAUSD’s Beyond The Bell and Calabasas High’s Jazz Band are performing too.

Chinatown Summer Nights:   Food, music and culture merge at Chinatown Summer Nights this Saturday from 5 p.m. to midnight. Taste the many culinary offerings of Chinatown and LA’s gourmet food trucks; sample the neighborhood’s wares; watch Chinese chefs perform cooking demonstrations; experience large-scale, outdoor video projections; take part in hands-on, Chinese cultural activities presented by local organizations and museums; sip on craft brews and dance in Central Plaza with 89.9 KCRW’s DJ’s.  This is the first event this summer. The next events are on July 20 and August 17.

Saturdays Off the 405 at The Getty:  Enjoy outdoor music and evening views of the city  while checking out summer exhibitions. Free tours depart at 6 and 7 p.m. The evening features performances by up and coming bands, along with DJ sets to open and close the night.   A cash bar serves Getty-tinis and more, and the Garden Terrace Cafe offers sandwiches, salads, and other nibbles (both until 8:30 p.m.). This Saturday, electronic musician Robert DeLong takes the stage from 6 – 9 p.m. and blends drums, rock ‘n’ roll, and video-game peripherals. Also performing is DJ Paul Boston.

SUNDAY

Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance: The “Jet Age” and the Lear Jet’s 50th anniversary is the theme for this annual Father’s Day tradition with a celebration. It will be the first aircraft to ever appear on Rodeo Drive.  There will also  be wide variety of vintage and racing cars and motorcycles lining Rodeo Drive north from Wilshire Boulevard to Santa Monica Boulevard on Sunday, June 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Concerts on the Green :  The 300th Army Band will set the scene for Father’s Day  this Sunday at Woodland Hills’ Warner Center Park with Surfin’ Safari belting out Beach Boys classics. Pack a picnic and bring a blanket. Dogs must be on a leash and no alcohol or barbecuing allowed in the park. 5800 Topanga Blvd. Woodland Hills. Concert starts at 6 p.m.
